About the Artist

John Ball is an artist who has spent many years drawing, painting, and exploring different ways of creating. Along the way, he has worked as an illustrator for many publications, including a series of children’s books, created paintings for galleries and private collectors, and spent time studying and learning from many other artists.

His experience and practice includes working in a variety of mediums- oil, watercolor, acrylic, and charcoal, and exploring everything from studio work to painting from life indoors and outdoors. He has worked with many students of different ages, led classes and workshops, and shared what he’s learned through demonstrations and one-on-one guidance.

These days, much of his time is spent painting, taking on commissions, and continuing to grow as an artist. Together with his wife Nancy, they run Brush and Sketch Art Studio in Pensacola, Florida where they enjoy building a welcoming place for others to learn, create, and enjoy the process of making art.
