Art Instruction

Sharing the process and joy of creating art is a very important part of being an artist.  Brush and Sketch Art Studio, founded by my wife Nancy and I provides inspiration and instruction for young artists and adults.  We offer group and private art instruction in a variety of mediums:  watercolor, acrylic, charcoal, pencil, gouache, oil, and digital.  Nancy works with our younger artists and I work with adults who are passionate about growing their skill and creating fine art. 

Our studio offers workshops and critiques; coaching with paintings in progress or series of paintings; plein air painting and studio work; from basic principles to advanced.

It would be a privilege to work with you and help you take your art to the next level.   

Current classes:

Drawing - Tuesday evening drawing class (for ages 14 through adult) is a great way to grow your drawing skills and get in regular practice time. Through projects and exercises, instructor John gives expert advice and coaching to increase artist's drawing abilities.
For drawing class only, artists have the option to pay for each class they attend or register to attend each week (at a reduced rate). Click on the registration form below for details.

Watercolor- (for ages 16 through adult) is an opportunity to learn painting techniques from John. He will demonstrate water-media techniques (watercolor, gouache and acrylic) and be available for coaching and instruction as artists work on personal projects.

Art Share - Art Share is a once a month, FREE show and tell opportunity with a specific theme that will be highlighted. Come to the studio with one or two of your paintings to meet local artists, talk shop and be encouraged, informed and challenged by your art community. Sign up for times.
